Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Country Development Manager for Women's Empowerment in Uzbekistan. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our country programme, ensuring its effective implementation, and driving progress towards gender equality and women's empowerment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive country programme strategy aligned with UN Women's global priorities and national development goals.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of programme activities, ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
  • Foster partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to advance gender equality and women's empowerment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to programme staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to achieve programme objectives.
  • Represent UN Women at national and international forums, promoting our work and influencing policy and programming decisions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in programme management, with a focus on gender equality and women's empowerment.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful programme strategies, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and partnership-building.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex political and cultural contexts.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Russian is an asset.
