The World Bank Group, a leading international development institution, is seeking an exceptional Energy Sector Research Analyst to contribute to its mission of reducing poverty and improving quality of life in developing countries.
Company OverviewThe World Bank has a large energy sector portfolio in Uzbekistan, encompassing investment projects in power transmission and distribution, district heating, and energy efficiency. Additionally, the organization conducts analytical and advisory activities on sustainable energy solutions and energy efficiency.
This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in the energy sector and international cooperation to contribute to the Bank's efforts in Uzbekistan.
Job Description- Contribute to data collection, research, and analytical work on the Uzbekistan energy sector.
- Prepare reports and presentations on sustainable energy and energy efficiency in key sectors.
- Draft briefs and reports on energy sector development in Uzbekistan.
- Research new energy and efficiency activities and their impact on the energy economy.
- Join field visits and participate in visit report preparation.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in energy, engineering, economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in research, data analysis, or positions focusing on international benchmarking, cost-benefit analysis, and large data sets.
- Experience in the Energy sector, green energy solutions, development of green energy markets, private sector participation in public energy efficient technologies.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience working with Microsoft Office products.
- Fluent English language proficiency, with working knowledge of Russian an asset.
