About the Role

The Principal Investment Officer will be part of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), responsible for managing a significant portion of IFC's business volume and capital at risk. As Regional Business Lead for Central Asia, this individual will serve as the focal point for FIG's investment program delivery in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and expertise to FIG's business in Central Asia
  • Serve as the coordinator for FIG's investment program delivery in the CA sub-region
  • Offer value-added services to clients through collaboration with IFC's upstream and advisory programs
  • Drive and shape FIG's financial inclusion strategy, operations, and business growth in the CA sub-region
  • Generate new business opportunities for FIG MCT by understanding IFC's core product areas and assessing/presenting solutions that deliver value to clients
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business and/or Finance; Economics, International Development, International Banking
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with a development finance institution (DFI), a commercial and investment bank, or a private equity firm
  • Demonstrated knowledge in financial institutions, climate, gender, and digital finance, credit and risk management, corporate governance, responsible finance, and related international finance and development issues
  • Ability to represent IFC externally and develop relationships with clients, government, media, donors, and industry stakeholders
