Central Asia Financial Institutions Specialist

The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, is seeking an experienced professional to join its team as a Principal Investment Officer in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) for the Middle East, Central Asia, Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan region.

FIG is one of the major industry groups at IFC, responsible for managing a significant portion of IFC's overall business in terms of volume and capital at risk. The group engages in a wide range of sub-sectors including microfinance, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), gender, climate, insurance, capital markets, housing, distressed assets, and other areas.

The ideal candidate will have considerable hands-on experience in private sector investment in financial institutions, at senior levels in several countries, including low-income countries, Fragile and Conflict-affected States, and those transitioning from centrally controlled to more market-oriented economies.

The selected candidate will be expected to provide leadership and expertise to FIG's business in Central Asia, serve as the focal point for coordinating investment program delivery in the region, and drive and shape FIG's financial inclusion strategy, operations, and business growth in the area.

The role requires strong business development and client relationship skills, demonstrated network relevance, and ability to plan and manage staff to achieve high-quality results. Excellent communication and writing skills are also essential, with proficiency in English required.
