We're thrilled to be launching our brand-new Central Asia Country Office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and we're looking for a visionary Country Director to lead the way  

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Intrepid Travel's operations across the Stans - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and beyond. As Country Director, you will lead our strategic growth in the region, driving operational excellence, building a high-performing team, and collaborating closely with our Operations Manager to deliver unforgettable travel experiences. 

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing new business, assuring trip profitability and boosting revenue. You will build and empower teams across operations, finance, and contracting functions. Reporting to the Regional General Manager North & South Asia, you will be a part of the Asia Leadership team and work cross-functionally to elevate the Intrepid brand in Central Asia.

This is a full-time permanent position, where you will be based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Some of the essential experience you'll bring may include: 

  • Managing Ground Operations in Central Asia in the travel & tourism industry 
  • Strong knowledge of the Central Asia region and travel industry 
  • Minimum 5 years middle level management experience with the ability to build and develop teams 
  • High level of financial literacy and excellent decision-making ability 
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language (both written and verbal) 
  • Proven understanding of risk and incident management 
  • Experience in tourism or an operations, sales and customer-focused industry
