Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Tashkent for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing power distribution. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing project documentation, coordinating with other engineering teams, and ensuring the efficiency and safety of electrical systems within various projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and manage electrical design consultant tenders; prepare detailed and clear Scope of Work documentation for RFPs.
• Take ownership of electrical design deliverables across Concept, Schematic, Design Development, and IFC stages.
• Provide technical leadership to design consultants, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with international/local standards
• Review and approve electrical design documentation including power distribution layouts, lighting and emergency lighting systems, earthing and lightning protection, generator, UPS, and redundancy systems.
• Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information) from consultants and contractors, providing prompt and technically sound solutions.
• Conduct in-depth technical evaluations, electrical load flow and fault calculations, ensuring proper integration with other disciplines.
• Evaluate and approve contractor shop drawings, submittals, and coordination layouts for compliance with design intent.
• Drive value engineering and cost optimization exercises with the Commercial Team while maintaining performance, safety, and sustainability requirements.
• Support QA/QC processes by reviewing material submittals, method statements, and technical compliance.
• Actively participate in high-level design coordination meetings, guiding decision-making for electrical and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant international standards (IEC, BS, NFPA, NEC, ISO) and local codes.
• Ensure close coordination between mechanical and other disciplines to achieve integrated and coordinated design packages.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant local and international mechanical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Maintain strong awareness of global and local brands, vendors, and market trends, ensuring best-value and high-performance system selections.
• Establish and manage effective communication with local and national permitting authorities, utility providers, and approval bodies to secure timely permits and compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, foster knowledge transfer and internal capability growth.
• Promote integration of energy efficiency strategies, smart technologies, and BMS/SCADA systems into project designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of proven experience in electrical design engineering, including leadership roles on hospitality, mixed-use, residential and infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience in client/developer environments with responsibility for consultant and contractor management.
• Strong expertise across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and handover.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical simulation/design software (ETAP, Dialux, Ecodial).
• Deep technical knowledge of electrical systems such as MV/LV distribution, control systems, industrial automation, SCADA, UPS, redundancy, and smart building solutions.
• Familiarity with international standards and proven ability to apply them in regional contexts.
• Strong planning, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an asset.
