Job Summary
We are looking for a
Cable Design Engineer
with experience in the design and development of power, control, instrumentation, and communication cables in compliance with
European standards (EN, IEC, HD, VDE, BS, etc.)
. The candidate will be responsible for developing new cable constructions, improving existing designs, and supporting the production team with technical documentation and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cable constructions in accordance with IEC/EN/HD standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, material specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, certification standards, and product safety norms.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality departments to optimize cable designs for manufacturability and performance.
- Analyze test reports and laboratory results to validate cable performance.
- Support certification processes (e.g., CE, RoHS, CPR, ISO).
- Maintain internal databases of cable designs and material characteristics.
- Participate in cost optimization projects while maintaining product quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Minimum
3 years of experience
in cable design or related field (power cables, control cables, telecom cables). - Strong knowledge of
IEC 60228, IEC 60502, EN 50525, HD 603, and related standards
. - Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, 1C, or similar).
- English proficiency (technical reading/writing required).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in
low- and medium-voltage cable
design (up to 35 kV). - Knowledge of
fire performance and halogen-free compound standards
(EN 60332, EN 60754, EN - Understanding of
CPR (Construction Products Regulation)
certification process. - Familiarity with
European material suppliers
(e.g., Borealis, Prysmian compounds, Nexans materials). - Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
